Accommodations and Meals
University On-Campus Housing Procedures
Check-In will begin Monday July 21st at 3pm. Check-Out is required before 10am Monday July 28th. The front desk of each Hall will be staffed for late evening Check-In and early morning Check-Out.
All rooms are equipped with the following: Pillow, pillowcase, blanket, 2 flat sheets, and towel. Guests may bring their own linens, however there is no discount if they bring their own linens. Only groups staying longer than 7 days will get a linen exchange. Furniture & linens come in each room.
Phones are $1 per day and are in limited supply at each front desk, first come, first served. Internet access is available in each room, however ethernet cables are not provided. Televisions will be available for rent for $5 per day or $25 for the week.
Swipe cards and keys must be returned upon leaving or there will be a charge of $20 for Nelson swipe cards or $60 for Centennial Halls room keys.
There are Laundry facilities in both Nelson and Centennial. Rates are $1.25 per load for Washers and $1.00 per load for Dryers. Detergent and dryer sheets are not provided and the machines take quarters only.
Do not use safety lock boxes in rooms (if equipped), as access codes for these boxes cannot be attained.
There are two locations on campus to purchase toiletries: The University Bookstore and the Convenience Store located in Centennial Halls. Both locations have limited summer hours.
Rooms are not equipped with alarm clocks, please bring your own.
Nelson Hall is air-conditioned, Centennial Halls is not. A very limited number of fans is available at the front desk of Centennial.
Excessively dirty rooms will be charged $25 per room.
Meal Procedures
Meal Plans A and B begin with Breakfast on July 22nd, and conclude with Breakfast on July 28th. It will not be possible to purchase individual meals through the Meal Plan. A variety of alternative dining options are available within walking distance of Nelson Hall, Centennial Halls, and the Newman Center, including the Lunch Roof-top Social Tuesday through Saturday.
Guests who reserve a room in On-campus housing and wish to purchase a meal plan will only be able to use the Cafeteria located in the building which they have reserved a room. Eg. Centennial Halls guests will be limited to Centennial Halls Cafeteria.
Join us at our daily Roof-top Lunch Socials July 22nd through 26th from 12-2! Conveniently located right next to the Newman Center on the roof of the garage, come listen to University ensembles perform, mingle with artists, and enjoy lunch outdoors! Box lunches(not included in the meal plan) will be available for purchase.

Nelson Hall
Nelson Hall is located at 2222 South High St. Denver, CO 80210, two blocks west of the Newman Center.
Nelson Hall dining room offers a wide variety of menu items including pizza, pasta, grilled or vegetarian entrees, fruit and salad bar, a deli bar and a dessert cart.
Nelson Hall dorm suites consist of two to four bedrooms that share a bathroom and a common entry space. Many of the larger suites have a double vanity located outside the toilet/shower area. These suites do not have kitchens, although each suite will include a micro fridge. There is a common kitchen located on each floor (two on floors two, three, and four) for students to use.
Nelson Hall deluxe suites include a full kitchen, living room, and two to four bedrooms.
Many of the bedrooms in Nelson are doubles. These double rooms have been designed to be spacious and airy. Most of them have two operable windows, and many are located on corners to allow for cross-ventilation.
Nelson Hall is fully air-conditioned and features high-speed internet connections, cable television, and local phone service in each suite and apartment. Nelson also offers card-access entry to the building, the suites, and the individual rooms. The building sits above two levels of underground parking(for a fee), with space for 220 cars. Unique features of the building include a central courtyard, a grand dining hall, an outdoor dining patio, and a tower that faces into the heart of campus. Other special rooms in the building include a seminar/conference room on the main floor, a lobby lounge area, a technology center, and multiple lounge spaces on each floor.
Centennial Halls
Centennial Halls is a twin 10-story high-rise offering a spectacular view of the Rocky Mountains and downtown Denver. Each room in Centennial Halls accommodates two students and includes: dual closets, desks, chairs, shelves, dressers and twin sized beds(mattresses measure 78"x 38"). Centennial Halls is located on the corner of Jewell Avenue and South High Street, a 10-15 minute walk from the Newman Center.

Four Points by Sheraton Denver Southeast (Official Symposium Hotel)
Located in the Denver Tech Center, Four Points by Sheraton Denver Southeast is the official Hotel of The 40th International Horn Symposium. Four Points offers easy highway access and a close proximity to local area businesses. It has 475 guest rooms, each equipped with many amenities, and features two pools and a whirlpool, two onsite restaurants, a salon, and room service. Transportation between the hotel and the Newman Center is available using Denver's recently expanded Light Rail system.

The Sheraton Denver Tech Center Hotel has offered rooms at a discounted rate of $95 per night for the 2008 International Horn Symposium. Please be aware that this Hotel is not the official Conference Hotel but is located nearby and is still accessible using the Light Rail system. Symposium Parking
Guests of Four Points by Sheraton Denver Southeast are provided free parking at the Hotel. Paid parking is available at the Newman Center for $6 per day or $30 for the week, purchasable at the Symposium Registration desk.

Cherry Creek State Park
The nearest campground is Cherry Creek State Park, just a 15 minute drive from the Newman Center. Cherry Creek State Park offers a great getaway from the daily grind, with recreation opportunities anchored around a 880 surface-acre lake. Visitors can view birds in their natural habitat. Fun seekers visit the park to enjoy boating, jet and water skiing, sailing, fishing, swimming, biking, horseback riding, and more. It provides the convenience of close-in camping at its 125 sites located on the east side of the reservoir. Chatfield State Park
Another campground option is Chatfield State Park. This popular Denver metro area park is surrounded by beautiful rolling foothills, expansive reservoir and abundant wildlife. The park includes camping, a full-service livery, miles of hiking and biking trails, a popular lake, the Chatfield marina and one of the most popular hot-air balloon launch areas on the Front Range. Great Blue herons nest within Chatfield from March through September near the southern border of the park. Four camping areas boast 197 sites. All campsites are surrounded by grass, are within walking distance to the lake and have picnic tables and grills.
